Hi everyone,
As we wrap up the year, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who's been reading my blog posts! Since July marked the first anniversary of my father's passing, SequenceMe has made great progress. It's all thanks to the amazing support from his close friends and my Mom. I have also learned that some of my friends at school have lost their fathers this year, too. It's unbelievably tough but knowing that others my age are going through the same thing is very comforting for me.
I am proud of myself for taking the initiative to start a club for those who lost someone significant in their lives this year. It's a safe space for everyone who has gone through something as horrible as this. You are not alone. I learned a lot about grief this past year. It never goes away but the sharp edges are getting rounder.
I think about my father all the time. He was so funny, and remembering the hilarious moments we shared always gives me strength. Looking ahead to the new year, I am planning on volunteering at the local hospital to help others in need.
Lastly, I'm really thankful to my father for kickstarting my blog journey and to his friends for sticking around and genuinely caring about me. I miss my father every day, but I know he is making me stronger. I bet he is up there looking at me with that goofy grin, totally proud.
See you all in 2025! Happy holidays to you all. — Devona
